Rare Photo Gallery is bringing to the Old Book and Paper Show in Toronto tomorrow April 3rd  “a special selection of material highlighting the Fenian Raids (1866–1871). The year 2016 marks one hundred and fifty years since the raids began. This singular group of material includes: carte de visite (CDV) portraits of some of the most notable military figures of the Raids, and of Canadian military and militia soldiers of various ranks; a number of tintype military portraits; unique ephemera (documents, etc.); and some larger albumen prints, including one period-framed work by William Notman.”Fenian_002Fenian_003-1Fenian_014-1
